Obama, Republicans, and Fear
“…the state must either fail or be sustained by a fear of the rule[r]…” – Machiavelli

The fear of death is a behavioral truism that is prevalent across virtually all cultures and educational backgrounds. Fear of death is the easiest string a marketer, prince, or politician can pull.
Marketers operate by utilizing one of the three-pronged behavioral truisms: fear, rage, and love. They create fear over rarities, rage over insignificant minutia, and love for superficiality. Incidentally, so do politicians.
“Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close. More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it most. And more will die as a result. We know these things to be true.” – President Obama – Source
In that light, Rep. Shimkus & Rep. Wilson’s antics don’t seem so out of place.
