Divisive Politics
Politics are tearing the nation in half. Right?
Yes.
And yes.
In the US, winner takes all, and the winner is usually the most ruthless. The candidates will verbally beat each other up to win, but when its all said and done they become friends. John Adams was “anti-freedom” Jefferson was “anti-Christ” in the end they become pen pals and decided to die on the same day. Bush Sr. & Clinton were the fiercest opponents until, satisfied with power, they became charity buddies. McCain and Obama are closer ideologically than Kucinich and Obama.
Divisive politics? I think not.
